Draft 'Sexual Orientation' Regulations published

Only target I can see for this is Christians, but there you go. Here.

well, I have to say I doubt very much that the "only target" is Christians. For instance regulation 28 hasn't been commented on at all, as far as I am aware. If I understand it, it means for instance that the National Blood Service can continue its policy of not accepting any blood from any man who's ever had sex with another man (even safer sex) - and that this won't be unlawful discrimination as long as the Blood Service can point to medical and other evidence supporting this ban. My point isn't whether this ban is a good thing or not - though some gay campaigners and the National Union of Students have tried to overturn it - but that this part of the SORs, and others, aren't 'aimed at' Christians.

Also, it seems to me that one way of looking at these regulations could be to see them as an extension of the view that being gay isn't a defective form of being heterosexual, but 'just is' that way (am taking it that this is the view the govt has committed itself to). If that is true then these regulations might be thought to have a proper place on the books, and wouldn't be a "work of the Devil". But there's a question - is that true? (me, a stuck record?!) As I've said elsewhere I am coming to see that it is true - but this must be a crucial question...
