I picked up this comment from Tim Goodbody on the Fulcrum thread covering this meeting, and hope he and others might read the correction here.

Tim wrote, "CB said the way we're set up at the moment in the AC if the ABC doesn't recognise a bishop, because of heresy or personal immorality, then all the ministers and laity under that bishop also lose their status as Anglicans."

That isn't quite what I heard. My notes at this point read, "He [the ABC] only recognizes bishops, by inviting them to Lambeth. Problem for ABC, if he doesn’t invite a bishop, what does it say about the people in that diocese?"

The point Christina seemed to be making was that there was doubt at this point - did it 'disenfranchise' a whole diocese by not inviting the bishop, or not?

My own view would be that it clearly would not, but apparently this is unclear higher up the hierarchy.

Yes, that's a fairer reflection (and better sense) than what I initially recorded. However, the point we makeis the same, that there is a problem with how the ABC relates to laity "under" uninvited bishops
